YOU must listen to what is said in this game,
and be careful to do exactly the opposite.
Four players stand up,
and each takes hold of one corner of a handkerchief.
A fifth player calls out:

“Hold fast!”
and anyone who does not let go will be out;
while, if the order is ‘Let go!”

those who fail to hold fast will be out.
The orders must be given rapidly, one after the other,
and someone is sure to make a mistake,
but the last to do so, of course, is the winner.
