This Frederick! this Frederick!
\nA naughty, wicked boy was he;
\nHe caught the flies, poor little things,
\nAnd then tore off their tiny wings;
\nHe kill’d the birds, and broke the chairs,
\nAnd throw the kitten down the stairs;
\nAnd oh! far worse and worse,
\nHe whipp’d his good and gentle nurse!<\/p>\n

The trough was full, and faithful Tray
\nCame out to drink one sultry day;
\nHe wagg’d his tail, and wet his lip,
\nWhen cruel Fred snatch’d up a whip,
\nAnd whipp’d poor Tray till he was sore,
\nAnd kick’d and whipp’d him more and more;<\/p>\n

At this, good Tray grow very red,
\nAnd growl’d and bit him till he bled;
\nThen you should only have been by,
\nTo see how Fred did scream and cry!<\/p>\n

So Frederick had to go to bed;
\nHis leg was very sore and red!
\nThe Doctor came and shook his head,
\nAnd made a very great to-do,
\nAnd gave him bitter physic too.
\nBut good dog Tray is happy now;
\nHe has no time to say “bow-wow!”
\nHe seats himself in Frederick’s chair,
\nAnd laughs to see the nice things there:
