Today it still is summer,
\nTomorrow will be fall.
\nI see the purple asters,
\nI hear the autumn’s call.<\/p>\n

I feel the warm sun shining
\nAs a balmy south wind blows;
\nI see more flowers blooming,
\nAnd I see the grass still grows;<\/p>\n

The goldenrod is waving,
\nThe bees are in the clover.
\nI hear a distant honking
\nThe geese are flying over.<\/p>\n

The maple leaves are golden:
\nThe pumpkins, round and yellow.
\nThe apple cheeks are rosy,
\nThe pears are getting mellow.<\/p>\n

The nuts are growing rounder,
\nThe cornstalks, brown and sear.
\nBy twenty lovely tokens
\nI know that fall is near.<\/p>\n

Today it still is summer,
\nTomorrow will be fall.
\nToday I still am barefoot.
