Clouds formed in a crystal blue sky.
\nSoon the rain began.
\nA pleasant, warm rain full of small, ordinary drops.
\nWherever they landed, they splashed.
\nOne drop didn’t splash.
\nIt bounced.
\nAnd no matter how many times it bounced, it just kept on bouncing.
\nThis bouncing raindrop is Bouncer.
\nOh, the places Bouncer bounced.
\nFirst on the grass. “Oooh, that tickes,”
\ngiggled Bouncer.
\nThen the road. “Oh, that’s smooth and fast,'” and Bouncer raced along the surface.
\nWhat Bouncer liked best was the space between the bounces.
\nThat is when Bouncer flew.
\nAbove the grass and road.
\nFloating. Free.
\nOh, how Bouncer wanted to share the joy of bouncing with the other drops.
\nBut, no drops would follow him.
\nOh, they listened politely enough. But when they would say things that seemed strange.
\nOne said, “Perhaps it works for you Bouncer, but drops are supposed to splash. Splashing is what we do.”
\nBouncer hurriedly tried to explain, “No, no, no…
\nDon’t you see, if it works for me, it’ll work for you too.”
\nAnother said, “I don’t deserve to bounce.”
\nBouncer replied,”You don’t have to earn bouncing. Just try it.”
\nBouncer sadly realized that other drops would never bounce.
\nNot because they couldn’t.
\nBut because they didn’t believe they could.
\n“I’m not like the other drops,” Bouncer thought.
\nAnd Bouncer bounced.
\nOver the rocks, uphill and down.
\nNear flowers, past ants.
\nThe rain continued and Bouncer tried again to talk to the other drops.
\nOne said, “Who do you think you are?”
\n“Why, I’m a drop, just like you,” replied a\u00a0 confused Bouncer.
\n“Oh, no you’re not! If you were like me you’d just splash,” replied the drop angrily.
\n“But,” Bouncer asked, “What good is splashing?”
\n“WHAT GOOD IS SPLASHING? WHAT GOOD IS SPLASHING?” the drop shouted.
\n“Splashing is as good as it gets. Drops splash.<\/p>\n

There’s the way it is, always has been,always will be.”
\nBouncer asked bravely, “Why?”
\nThe drop didn’t answer, it just splashed.
\nAnd Bouncer bounced.
\nSoon the sun began to shine. Bouncer liked the warmth.
\nThe sun made Bouncer feel all bubbly inside.
\nFeeling bubbly made Bouncer giggle and smile.
\nBouncer noticed hen he giggled and smiled he felt very happy.
\nHe also noticed if he thought about bouncing, he bounced higher.
\nAnd when he thought about rolling, he rolled farther.
\n“Hmmm,” Bouncer thought, “this seems very important. I wish I could find someone to help me understand it.”
\nJust as Bouncer thought that, he found himself at a Stream.
\nHe didn’t know it, of course, Bouncer had never seen a Stream before.
\nHe wondered if it was a bunch of drops that splashed together.
\nBouncer gazed at the water.
\nAnother drop bounced out of the Stream and sat right next to him.
\n“Hi!”
\n“Oh, my goodness,” said a very surprised Bouncer, “can you bounce too?”
\n“Of course! I’m Jumper.”
\n“I’m very happy to meet you, Jumper,” Bouncer said.
\n“I was beginning to think I was the only bouncing drop.”
\n“We’ve been waiting for you, Bouncer.”
\n“For me…me?”
\n“Yes,” said Jumper with a warm smile, “for you.”
\n“You see,” continued Jumper, “without you the Stream doesn’t have enough bounce. You make it complete.”
\nBouncer asked, feling a bit better now,
\n“What’s a Stream?”
\n“My, my, my.” Jumper giggled, “You are new to this, aren’t you?”
\nBouncer nodded.
\n“We are the Stream. On the surface, we look like ordinary raindrops. But as you’ve discovered, Bouncer, we are more than just a bit of wet.”
\n“We think,” said Jumper, “and whatever we think about we create.”
\n“I know,” said Bouncer. “If I think about bouncing, I bounce higher. If I think aout being happy, I giggle. Sometimes I think about splashing and I leak.”
\n“Exactly!”<\/p>\n

\"bouncer3\"<\/a><\/p>\n

“Ever since the first rain clouds formed,” Jumper went on, “drops could bounce.”
\n“The first drops knew it and decided to make some rules.”
\n“Rules?” questioned Bouncer.
\nJumper explained, “Only the biggest drops were allowed to bounce.”
\n“But, why?” Bouncer asked.
\n“The big drops said bouncing had to be done perfectly. Only big drops could do it right.”
\n“So, small drops gave up bouncing. They stopped believing they could,” said Jumper.
\nBouncer noticed a tear in his eye.
\n“But, some drops,” Jumper cleared his throat, “decided to bounce anyway.”
\n“They knew there must be more to a raindrop’s life than splashing.”
\nJumper said proudly, “the amazing thing about bouncing is you can bounce and splash and bounce again!”
\n“WHAT?” exclaimed Bounder, wondering is he had dozed off and dreamt those last words.
\n“You just saw me do it.”
\n“Can I…,” Bouncer said very slowly, “… do it too?”
\n“Of course you can,” said a confident Jumper.
\n“How?”
\n“Look carefully at the Stream, ” said a calm Jumper to a very excited Bouncer.
\nBouncer noticed fish swimming in it. The Stream was a good home for them.
\nBuzzing bees made him look at the flowers near the edge of the Stream. The flowers, painted with rainbow colors, were different sizes and shapes. The Stream fed them.
\nBouncer saw the Stream gently flowed under, around, over and through anything in its path. The Stream was very smart and very kind.
\nBouncer thought the Stream must be the source of every good thing.
\n“The Stream is love,” Jumper said.
\nBouncer started to feel a little dizzy. “That Stream is very important.”
\n“Bouncer,” said Jumper, “you are part of the Stream.”
\n“You are connected to the Stream and that is why you can bounce, splash, and bounce again.”
\nBouncer said, “If the Stream is important, and I am connected to it, I must be important, too.”<\/p>\n

Jumped smiled, “You’ve got it!”
\nBouncer smiled a shy smile not sure of what exactly he got.
\n“You see,” continued Jumper, “in the Stream of Life we are all connected. Together we love the earth and all living things.”
\n“Together we are strong. We lift each other over the rocks, around tree stumps, under bridges.”
\n“And,” continued Jumper, “no matter where you bounce, the Stream is always with you.”
\n“In fact,” Jumper exclaimed, “wherever you bounce you take the love of the Stream with you.”
\n“That makes me sound very special,” said Bouncer proudly.
\n“You are special!” announced Jumper.
\n“I am sure glad I met you,” said a relieved Bouncer.
\n“The other drops got so angry with me for bouncing. I was afraid bouncing was bad.”
\n“Oh, heavens no! Bouncing is good,” and he gave Bouncer a squishy hug.
\nBouncer had never been hugged before. After the waves slowed down, he knew he liked hugging.
\nJumper had met Bouncer at just the right time.
\n“Bouncer,” Jumper said sadly “until the other drops bounce, they won’t be able to find the Stream of Life.”
\nBouncer knew Jumper was a very wise drop.
\n“Jumper,” asked Bouncer, “can we help them?”
\n“Ah, my friend,” said Jumper. “The greatest gift we have been given is the power to choose our thoughts.”
\nJumper knew that thinking about bouncing, splashing, and bouncing again is a choice each and every drop must make.
\n“There’s room for all drops in the Stream of Life and every rainy day, each drop can choose,” said Jumper.
\nBouncer thought for a moment and feeling a bit forgetful asked, “Choose what?”
\nJumper smiled a great big smile and exclaimed, “Choose to the be connected to the Stream or splash.”
\n“I know what I choose!” said a confident Bouncer.
\n“What?” asked Jumper hopefully.
\n“I want to be in the Stream of Life!”
\nAnd Bouncer bounced higher than ever before, gently splashed into the Stream, and moved with the flow to even greater bounces and splashes yet to come.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
